The legend says that in 565, a Scottish saint named Santa Columba saved a person from being attacked by a giant animal in the huge Loch Ness, near the city of Inverness, in the Scottish Highlands. Those were the first news of the Loch Ness Monster, better known as “Nessie”, and with them began a myth that lasts until today.
A huge criature, green, with an elongated body, black bumps, tail and snake head. This could be Nessie´s robot portrait, made thanks to the testimonies of more than 1,000 people who, over almost 1,500 years, said they had seen the Monster in the Lake.
Nessie, such a character!
In 1868, the local newspaper Inverness Courier published the first information about someone seeing the Monster of the Lake. In 1933, the same newspaper published the testimony of another incident with this strange creature and, the following year, a supposedly real first photo is taken.
The myth does nothing but grow and there are many who approch the beautiful surroundings of the lake and wait patiently, excited to be next to see the famous Loch Ness Monster.
Nessie has been the main character of movies, series, documentaries, video games an even several series chapters. There is another story that speaks of a good monster, very shy and who dares not to poke his head out of the water when there are people nearby. A Nessie that children love and dream of meeting.
A tribute to the legend
In The Campamento we want to pay tribute to this cute monster, which has made many people dream.
That’s why we wanted him to be the protagonist of a AW19 collection’s print, so that children can enjoy Nessie´s companionship whenever they put on their clothes.
Legend or reality, we want Nessie to keep on feeding our imagination from the deep waters of Loch Ness.
