A Coruña Pop-up & City Guide

On December 16th, we opened our very first standalone pop-up in the city where we are based, A Coruña. This is something truly special for us: opening for a whole month in the city center of the place where The Campamento was born.

If you’re in A Coruña or passing by, we’d love to welcome you at Riego de Agua 54 until January 10th 💙

Also, we didn’t want to miss the chance to share some of our favorite spots in A Coruña to complete your visit. Take note, here they come!

To start the day, there’s nothing better than Doña Bárbara, located at the entrance of the city at Alfonso Molina 3. A specialty coffee spot with homemade pastries, all prepared slowly and with great care by Andrés and Yeli.

If you’re more into something classic, you can’t miss Manhattan, located in Plaza Pontevedra. Our recommendation is the ham and cheese sandwich with egg, paired with a good juice, a coffee and something sweet if you’re in the mood.

If you walk towards the city center, Varaston is a must-stop. It’s a small homeware shop located at Pío XII nº 1, right next to the San Agustín market. Even if you already know it, they’re always bringing in new finds, and it’s almost impossible to leave empty-handed.

Near Plaza de España, you’ll find Fiandón, a second-hand bookstore where you can happily lose track of time browsing through shelves full of books with history. It’s the kind of place to wander slowly, discover unexpected titles and leave with something you didn’t know you were looking for.

If hunger strikes while you’re out shopping, we have two great spots to recommend for a bite. The first one is La Leonesa (left), a classic spot to enjoy good ham. It’s a true local institution located in the old town, and the perfect excuse to wander through its charming narrow streets.

Another very special place is Os Tigres (right), a traditional tavern serving some of the best seafood we’ve tried in the city. They also offer meat dishes, but we can’t recommend enough the cockles or their famous tiger mussels. Be warned, they’re spicy!

Os tigres, Galera 45

Two other very special spots are Playa de Matadero and Monte San Pedro. From both locations, you can enjoy stunning views of the city, either at sea level or from above, and truly appreciate how the Atlantic Ocean embraces the entire city.

If you’re looking for something cultural, Galería Vilaseco is a contemporary art gallery located at Padre Feijoo 5. It features exhibitions by both national and international artists, and also has a specialized bookstore and a selection of designer furniture for sale.

And to end your visit on a high note, nothing beats enjoying some natural wines at Gluglú, located at Capitán Troncoso 17 in the heart of the city. Afterwards, immerse yourself in a live jazz concert at Jazz Filloa, a charming intimate venue tucked away on Rúa Cega, perfect for soaking up the vibrant local music scene.

That’s all from our side. Thank you to everyone visiting us these days! We hope these recommendations help you enjoy the city even more!
