Carballo Estrela Blue Slingshot

Handcrafted by Luis from Carballo Estrela, this slingshot is a special collaboration with The Campamento, made in a limited edition of just six units.

It is inspired by a native bird: the “arrendajo” (eurasian jay), known for his role in natural forest regeneration by storing and dispersing seeds.

The summer of 2025 brought a wave of devastating wildfires to Galicia, our homeland. This project aims to raise awareness among children about the importance of native species, caring for the natural environment and valuing what surrounds us.

The small pellets included for play are made of acorns and seeds*, so each launch helps sow new life in the forest, echoing the reforesting work of the “arrendajo”.

*For shipments outside the EU, only clay balls without seeds are included to avoid introducing non-native species that could disrupt a healthy ecosystem.

Details & Fit

The slingshots are made from Galician chestnut wood sourced from Lugo. The boxes are made of Galician pine and the lids are okoume wood. The bands are latex and the bindings are tied with beeswax-coated thread.

Sustainability

At The Campamento we pay equal attention to the sustainability of the product as well as to the innovative design of the garments. We do not understand one thing without the other. The project was born with the vocation to do things in the way we believe best to leave a world as little damaged as possible to the following generations. The only reason is that it is our absolute responsibility.

We locate the production mainly in Portugal. Their extensive experience, the high quality of the products and the proximity are the reasons for our choosing. We like to work hand in hand with our suppliers and partners. We consider this the best way to learn and continue to improve our processes, both in design and in production or logistics.

We collaborate with the Carbon Neutral UPS program to compensate 100% of our deliveries CO2 emissions. Also, 100% of our envelopes for ecommerce are made with FSC certificate paper and were created for being reused. The bags that protect the clothes are made of recycled plastic and all our hagtags are made with recycled paper.
